Starbucks are working in your community with St Michael’s House

Starbucks has nominated St. Michael’s House as their charity partner. The relationship includes a five year fundraising target of €100,000 towards St Michael’s House "My Life, My Way" project which will be achieved through fundraising and donations from coffee sales throughout the year.

About St Michael's House - St Michael's House is a community-based voluntary organisation. Founded by parents in 1955, the organisation has grown to become one of the largest providers of services to people with an intellectual disability in Ireland. Today St Michael’s House provides a range of specialised services to over 1,600 children and adults with a learning disability and their families through 170 community based centres in the greater Dublin area.

Starbucks is donating 10 cent for every coffee sold on the 1st day of each month to the St Michael’s House "My Life, My Way" project. Starbucks has also employed two service users as part of the relationship and has ongoing fundraising activities such as coffee mornings, carol singing, toddler groups to name a few.

The "My Life, My Way" project is a pilot project to encourage communities to work together with people with intellectual disabilities. To ensure they are fully involved and supported by their local community.

Barbara Wiseman, Head of Fundraising for St Michael’s House commented: "St Michael’s House is delighted to be named as Starbucks Charity. It is a massive boost for the "My Life, My Way" project. The €100,000 from fundraising and coffee sales throughout the years will be put to good use!"
