Irish Youth Foundation
Starbucks believes the power of young people will change the world for the better.
Starbucks are committed supporters of the Irish Youth Foundation.
The Irish Youth Foundation financially support projects and programmes that make a positive difference to children and young people facing adversity in their lives.
Whenever possible IYF seeks to address the underlying causes of poverty, educational disadvantage, homelessness and social exclusion experienced by children and young people. Due to a wide range of social factors many children are denied their most basic rights - the right to a decent education, the right to be supported by caring adults and the right to a way of life that is free of fear and discrimination. The groups we support are innovative “grassroots” projects run by passionate professionals who understand young people and care about them.
Since 2010 Starbucks Ireland have supported these young people with funding, educational workshop and employee volunteer hours. From 2010 to 2013 Starbucks in conjunction with the IYF ran Youth Action an empowerment programme funding young people with ideas to make their community a better place. In 2014 Starbucks were a sponsor of Tour De Picnic a fundraisier where over 1000 people cycled and ran to Electric Picnic in aid of the IYF. In October 2014 as part of the One Young World Conference Starbucks CHQ hosted a Youth Bank Workshop as part of this incredible three day International Youth Conference.
