5th September 2012

To our Republic of Ireland Customers

Wherever we operate across the world, our approach is always to ensure that our business is set up to deliver the best possible products, service and community impact for customers in that country.

This is why from September, our 17 company-owned Starbucks stores in Ireland will be licensed to our long term partners The Entertainment Enterprises Group, run by Colum and Ciarán Butler.  We have been successfully working with The Entertainment Enterprises Group since they opened their first Starbucks store in 2007.

The Entertainment Enterprises Group currently operates ten Starbucks stores under license in Ireland, including our recently opened Nutgrove Shopping Centre store. With one new store planned in Stillorgan Shopping Centre to open before the end of this month, this move will see the number of Starbucks stores in Ireland operated by The Entertainment Enterprises Group increase to 28.

Our business in Ireland is on a strong footing and we see considerable potential to create jobs and growth by working with The Entertainment Enterprises Group. They have the local expertise, track record, knowledge and skill to grow our business further, and they have already opened some exceptional stores in partnership with us. You can expect to receive the same great service and high quality coffee that you have come to expect from Starbucks, regardless of ownership.

Kris Engskov, MD Starbucks UK & Ireland

We’re long term partners of Starbucks and are very excited to be taking on the expanded licensee role. Over the years we have built up a strong understanding of the Starbucks business and culture, and coupled with our knowledge of the Irish market, we believe that we are in a particularly strong position to grow Starbucks in Ireland in the coming years.

Colum and Ciarán Butler, The Entertainment Enterprises Group
